We are excited to offer you the opportunity to join us, other Emergency Medicine Professionals and friends on a wonderful trip to Burgundy in October 2009. 

Twenty-one years of planning Canada’s largest annual Emergency Medicine Conference (NYGH Emergency Medicine Update, Toronto) has given us the “leg up” on planning an outstanding CME event.  We have partnered with Hamilton-Fitzjames, a world leader in custom travel programs at the highest level.

Burgundy is one of the richest and most fascinating regions of France.  Sure, there is the wine that is famous (justly so!) worldwide.  Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Vosne-Romanée – these are names that bring aficionados to their knees.  

But over the centuries the wealth created by the wine has built magnificent châteaux, glorious cathedrals and strong free-spirited towns and villages that proudly maintain their traditions to this day.  Good food always accompanies good wine and so the mouth-watering dishes of coq au vin, boeuf bourguignon, poulet de bresse, Charolais beef and ripe cheeses always fill the tables.

The biking and walking is superb. Each morning we start our day with a stimulating, interactive medical education program. And once we set out there will be vineyards as far as the eye can see and lightly rolling hills topped by villages.  You will have your choice each day of an easy or challenging bike route (and even the option of hiking), or you may choose just to spend the day enjoying the beautiful town of Beaune.
